To many, Scotland is known as the home of golf and, as might be expected, Scotland possesses some of the most beautiful, challenging and exciting courses in the world, some of which are in Aberdeenshire. Most of these courses are only a short drive from the estate and provide exciting locations for golfers to play in from the shores of the North Sea to engrossed golf courses surrounded by moorland.

Royal Aberdeen Golf Club- The Club boasts being the 6th oldest in the world and has two courses; the Balgownie Championship Links (6,415 yards - 6,850 yards, Par 70/71) and the Silverburn Course (4,021 yards Par 64) and are only 1h’s drive away. www.royalaberdeengolf.com

 

Cruden Bay Golf Course- Located just south of Peterhead (1h30mins) and on the beautiful Scottish coastline, this course offers breathtaking views and visual wonders as well as an internationally famous golfing experience. Duff House Royal Golf Course- In this parkland course of 6161yards and a par 70, you’ll be dazzled by several holes that defy description including the 7th, 16th and 17th where the River Deveron proves to be a hazard for those who 'wander off the tee'. Dufftown Golf Course- Situated only 30mins away, The Dufftown Golf Course is set amongst the most amazing scenery in Speyside, the heart of the malt whisky country. At 5308yards and 67par, this short course is not to be underestimated; two of its holes (7th and 10th) feature in “Britain’s 100 Extraordinary Golf Holes”. www.dufftowngolfclub.com

 

Banchory Golf Course- Located a little over an hour away, on the banks of the 'Royal river', The River Dee, this charming par 69, 18 hole golf course offers a challenge to golfers of any standard. www.banchorygolfclub.co.uk

 

Huntly Golf Course- The nearest golf club (20mins drive) kills two birds with one stone as the course is positioned on the former grounds and around Huntly Castle, on the bonnie banks of the River Deveron. Playing at 5359yards from the white tees and to a par 67, this is a course where accuracy is rewarded and where you’ll be amazed by the beauty of the nature. Still, as a shorter course, it can be easily attempted by players of all levels and is an excellent place to go as a family. www.huntlygc.com
