Skiing

Three of Scotland's ski areas can be found in Aberdeenshire: the Grampian Highlands in the vicinity of Lynebain - Glenshee, Lecht and the Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre. All three offer excellent skiing, snowboarding and cross-country possibilities.

Located just 1h30mins away, Glenshee is Scotland’s most extensive ski area with more than 25 miles (40km) of downhill runs.

The Lecht ski centre, particularly well suited for beginners, is just over half an hour’s drive away with 20 maintained ski runs and 15 lifts.

Located even closer to Lynebain. The center is a purpose built all-weather facility for cross country skiing and when there is good snow, skiers can explore the high Clashindarroch Forest trails.

Cairngorm Mountain has been offering snowsports for over 50 years. We offer 30km of ski runs, 11 lifts, a fully maintained freestyle park. The snowsports season typically runs from December through until April, but this varies from year to year depending on weather.
